You Are Not Alone is landmark achievement for ministry to families in the 21st Century. Multi-generational households will only increase in the coming decades, and past generations are of little help in managing this reality. Through his experience as one of the youngest senior pastors in America, and now as Director of Launch Ministry, Corey Magstadt is uniquely qualified to help meet this challenge. Here at last is the help ‘boomerang’ parents need to manage their households and their lives in this trying season. You Are Not Alone will help you understand this unique cultural phenomenon and your role in maximizing it for kingdom purposes. I believe God with use this workbook and the entire You Are Not Alone experience to help you redeem this trying season of parenting into a marvelously transformational experience for you and your adult children.

There had to be other parents going through similar struggles. I just didn’t know where to find them. I didn’t know if starting a support group was a good idea….sounded like one more thing to do. Who wants to whine about their problems? How would I tell our story without ratting on my son? What if no one came?

Turns out, Corey was way ahead of me. He was not only planning a group; he had already written the guidebook. And, people did come. We had such similar stories. They, too, had tried to raise their families the right way. They had read the books, and spent the time, and worked to provide for their kids. They had prayed and trusted God, and tried to trust the doctors, and the medicine, and the counseling. Most of all, these parents were resilient. No one had asked to be a parent of a child who gets stuck on the way to growing up. But they stuck with their kids when it happened. Mental illness, missing motivation, poor choices with kick in the face consequences….

As we went through Corey’s workbook, the specific topics focused our conversation. We were able to clear through a web of struggles and talk about one thing at a time. The balance of listening and sharing helped. When we prayed together, I knew that these parents prayed from a similar place. They were really strong people. It strengthened me.
